what to expect
We're a warm, welcoming community, and you don't need any musical experience to join us.
Here's what starting with Low Rez looks like:

Our choir is made up of four vocal sections, grouped roughly by how high or low you sing comfortably:
High tenor (Tenor 1) – the highest voices in the choir, singing the brighter, higher melody and harmony lines
Low tenor (Tenor 2) – still in the higher range, but a little lower, blending beautifully with our Tenor 1 friends
Baritone – the middle-to-lower range, sitting comfortably between the tenors and the bass
Bass – the lowest voices, providing the deep foundation the whole choir is built on
If you have no idea where you belong, that's completely fine — most people don't when they start!
Our Musical Director, Ursula, will help place you during your very first rehearsal, so there's nothing to figure out on your own beforehand.

Many of our new members have never sung in a choir before, and plenty can't read sheet music — and that's genuinely okay.
We provide practice tracks for every part, which make it easy to learn your lines at home, at your own pace. If you can play a recording and sing along, you can sing with us.
We welcome new members without auditions. Just complete the membership form, turn up, and we'll take care of the rest.

We rehearse every Tuesday night, 7:00pm – 9:30pm in St Kilda, a 5 minute walk from the Inkerman St/St Kilda Rd tram stop
Once a month, each section also has its own sectional rehearsal, where you'll focus on your part in a smaller group.

Don’t want to sing, but want to contribute? We’re looking for enthusiastic volunteers to help at our events.
